COVID-19 and related migration of undergraduate and graduate courses to online teaching has required the Faculty of Land and Food Systems at UBC to migrate its in-person undergraduate and graduate courses to online delivery in an accelerated timeline. The Faculty of Land and Food Systems is inviting highly qualified personnel to join the Faculty.
Job Description
We are looking for two Online Learning Designers who will be responsible for providing pedagogical and instructional online learning design advice to the faculty and staff in the Faculty. The selected candidates will assist to faculty and staff on content development and implementation of educational technologies in support of the migration of historically in-person courses to online delivery using Canvas and other learning technologies, working in collaboration with other members of the Learning Center.
The candidate is expected to possess excellent knowledge of instructional design for online teaching and learning and related online learning technologies and to be an advanced user of Canvas and other learning technologies or able to pick up Canvas skills very efficiently.
This is a contract position (July 1 – October 31, 2020) with the possibility of extension and working remotely. The contract can be flexibly designed from a 50% to a 100% position.
