Lunch & Learn Session: Food experiences of transgender and gender diverse individuals

February 16, 2023

Our next session will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023 at noon (PST). Lindsay Goodridge, PhD student in Human Nutrition, will be hosting this week.

Lindsay Goodridge (she/her) is a Registered Dietitian and first year PhD student in Human Nutrition at UBC. She completed a 9-month contract as a full-time lecturer at the University of Prince Edward Island last year where she integrated gender-inclusivity into her interactions with students, lecture content, and assignments. Lindsay’s emerging research focuses on the food experiences of transgender and gender diverse individuals in British Columbia using three key themes: food insecurity, community connections through food, and personal food experiences. During this session, she will share the early stages of her progress through her PhD (which she started in September) as well as her strategies for integrating gender diversity into her courses.
