The Lunch & Learn Series hosts a Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI)-based discussion session on the third Friday of each month. These sessions are led by Will Valley (Associate Dean, EDI at Faculty of Land and Food Systems) and the Learning Centre Team, and will be open to all. For these sessions, attendees will be provided with an article or podcast episode that will be explored in a reflective and interactive discussion.
In this EDI Lunch and Learn session, participants will have opportunities to reflect on how gender is implicitly and explicitly emerging in their courses, teaching activities and practices. We strongly encourage participants to complete the BC Public Health Service Authority’s “Intro to Gender Diversity” on-line module, which introduces key terms and concepts, along with basic strategies for creating welcoming and accessible gender-affirming services and practices. The module will take approximately 30 mins to complete.
