Lunch & Learn Series: Jamovi Statistics Software with Brandon Oh

July 6, 2022

Our next formal session will be held on Friday, July 8th 2022 at noon (PT). Brandon Ho Seok Oh (Programmer Analyst, LFS Learning Centre) will lead the discussion this week.

Jamovi is a free, open-source statistics application built on the R statistical language. It is similar to statistical software such as Minitab and SPSS.

In this session, Brandon will introduce the software and talk about his experience with developing a Design-of-Experiment (DoE) module in Jamovi for use in an FNH course. The session will focus on the following topics:

  • What is Jamovi?
  • Why did Brandon choose Jamovi?
  • Demonstration of Jamovi with a simple dataset
  • DoE module developed for Food Science

Join Brandon and the Learning Centre team this Friday to discuss how you can incorporate Jamovi in your statistical analyses. To register for this session, please visit https://ubc.zoom.us/meeting/register/u5cscumsqDwrG9OI5NHXco_FeqnmI0pzdWM1
