Lunch & Learn Series: The LFS Canvas Template with Adrian Granchelli

This workshop was held on September 18, 2020.

Summary:

This week we will take a deeper dive into the LFS Canvas Template and the wealth of design tools that Canvas provides. We are going to explore how to structure an example week utilizing a variety of tools and taking a step back on how to organize your class.

Come with your experience and share what you have found that students love.

The LFS Teching Template is designed to make your course design easier and as best as it can be.

Learn:
  • how to import this template,
  • how to use this template to its fullest potential,
  • how this template can help with course organization, and
  • what Canvas components makes up a good module.

For those who couldn’t join:

  • We shared Canvas course design and organization. Adrian shared the LFS Canvas template, Patricia shared her implementation of the LFS Canvas template, and Candice shared her course design.
  • Some highlights included a beautifully designed and fully linked course schedule, and making Canvas work for your specific needs.

Keywords:

  • Pages: a webpage style component with content (text, images, videos, etc) embedded
  • Modules: are organization of components (ex. pages, files, quizzes, discussions, etc.)
  • Files: uploads of any file type to be linked within your course. Like an email attachment, files can be attached to any component.
